• Dassault Systèmes continues to make significant progress on the 3DExperience vision they laid out 5 years ago. This strategy has seen them transform from a software vendor offering distinct solutions for a variety of functional areas to a company that leads with a strong business transformation message backed up by a platform of solutions. I dropped "PLM" from the title of last year's strategy review. I feel even better about that decision a year later. They now have a broad software suite brought to market as solutions tailored to support key initiatives in the vertical industries they serve. As times goes … [ read more ]

SPEAK YOUR MIND

  1. One thing I forgot to make note of in the survey, that there should be a defined system to “status” model component, visually and text wise within a field, relative to hard coded spots along a work process timeline. such as model parts, and the drawings generated by those parts that could be in checking, design freeze, issued for____.

  2. Just to add, Present CAD tools does not allow easy integration of graphics such as product artworks and labels. Seamless integration of such part is preferred.

    • I think you make a valid point. though, depending on ones definition of “cad tools”, I did see where solid works has the ability to capture views from a model for insertion into an “artsy” type of illustration, or brochure, etc. I liked that the data supporting the graphic components is readily available also and can be inserted to provide naming conventions for required text for labels, stats, titles
