Can AI play a role in helping design engineers make better engineering decisions? If so, how?
Design engineers face growing pressure to make better decisions faster, but critical product cost and manufacturability information is not always available when they need it. Tech-Clarity’s new survey of 216 design and engineering professionals finds that engineers proceed without this information more than one-third of the time when it could affect their decisions.
The consequences often emerge later: 93% of respondents report experiencing significant late-stage design changes. Meanwhile, although AI activity is widespread among survey respondents, only 35% say it currently delivers significant or transformative value.
What prevents AI for design engineers from supporting more meaningful engineering work?
On Tuesday, November 10th at 10:00 EST, join Tech-Clarity’s Michelle Boucher and aPriori’s Principal Product Marketing Manager Mark Rushton for a discussion covering:
- Why engineers frequently make decisions without timely cost or manufacturability information
- How late discoveries affect engineering effort, release schedules, and product cost
- What Top Performers do differently with automation and connected information
- Where engineers see the greatest potential for AI
- What AI-enabled engineering applications must provide to earn engineers’ confidence
